Haywood Hospital

The Haywood Hospital has specialist services for rheumatology but also specialist rehabilitation and intermediate care services. It is also home to a walk-in centre currently seeing 50,000 patients per year.

The Rheumatology centre at the Haywood Hospital currently welcomes patients from North Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire. The catchment area has a population of over 500,000 patients.

The close relationship the department has with the Haywood Foundation gives the centre flexibility to expand and develop its facilities.

The Haywood hospital is pioneering in many different aspects of rheumatology, the first community rheumatologist was appointed here and the development of a computerised drug monitoring system was at the Haywood Hospital.

The Rheumatology Centre also has an active research team known nationally and internationally for its work.

The facilities at the Haywood hospital include outpatient services, inpatients, day case, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, chiropody and drug monitoring.

There is a cafe located on the first floor of the hospital serving both hot and cold food and drinks. There is lift access to the first floor from the main entrance hall.

The new Haywood hospital building opened in 2009 and includes all existing services.
