PALS

The patient advice and liaison service aims to provide confidential on-the-spot advice and support for any concerns you may have about the care the NHS provides.

If you have any concerns but don't want to complain, or have a problem and don't know who to turn to, the PALS service can help you and signpost you in the right direction.

PALS acts independently from other NHS services when helping you with your concerns. PALS will talk to other NHS staff and managers and if required other organisations to try resolve your query. We can also signpost patients, families and carers to other local and national support agencies.

Expert patient programme

The expert patient programme provides an opportunity for patients with long term conditions to take charge of their own management and educate and support others with the same condition.

If you are interested in becoming an expert patient and feel that you could help others cope better with their condition you can find out more details on courses near you at myWorkPlace Expert Patients Programme.
